1. Use of cooling water:
(1) Distilled water, tap water, rainwater or clean river water should be used as cooling water for diesel engines. Dirty or hard water (well water, mineral water, and other salty water) should not be used to avoid scaling and erosion of cylinder liners. Only under hard water conditions, it can be used only after softening and replenishing cash.
(2) When adding water to the water tank, the cooling system may not be fully refilled at one time. After the diesel engine is running, it should be checked again. If it is insufficient, the cooling system should be refilled. The cooling system water inlet is located on the top of the small top cover of the bulldozer.
(3) In the case of continuous operation, the cooling water should be replaced every 300 hours or so. There are five water cut-off doors for the cooling system of the bulldozer diesel engine: 1 is located at the bottom of the water tank; 2 is located at the bottom of the water-cooled oil cooler of the diesel engine; 3 is located at the front end of the diesel engine, at the circulating water pump; 4 is located at the left front of the transfer case, on the diesel engine body; The lower end of the water tank outlet pipe.

2. Scale treatment:
Every 600 hours, the diesel engine cooling system should be treated with scale.
In scale treatment, it is generally cleaned with an acidic cleaning solution first, and then neutralized with an alkaline aqueous solution. Through a chemical reaction, the water-insoluble scale is converted into water-soluble salts, which are removed with water.
The specific operation process is as follows:
(1) Remove the thermostat of the cooling system.
(2) Start the diesel engine and raise the water temperature to 70~85C. When the floating scale is turned up, immediately turn off the flame and release the water.
(3) Pour the prepared acidic cleaning fluid into the water tank, start the diesel engine, and run it at 600~800r/min for about 40 minutes, and then release the cleaning fluid.
Preparation of acid cleaning solution:
Add three acids in the clean water in the following proportions: hydrochloric acid: 5-15%, hydrofluoric acid: 2-4%,
Glycolic acid: 1 to 4%. After mixing well, it can be used.
In addition, if necessary, an appropriate amount of polyoxyethylene alkyl allyl ether can be added to improve the permeability and dispersibility of scale. The temperature of the acid cleaning fluid should not exceed 65°C. The preparation and use of cleaning fluid can also refer to the relevant content in the “135″ series diesel engine operation and maintenance manual.
(4) Then inject a 5% sodium carbonate aqueous solution to neutralize the acid cleaning solution remaining in the cooling system. Start the diesel engine and let it run slowly for 4 to 5 minutes, then turn off the engine to release the sodium carbonate aqueous solution.
(5) Finally, inject clean water, start the diesel engine, make it run at a high and sometimes low speed, rinse the residual solution in the cooling system with clean water, circulate for a while, then turn off the engine and release the water. Follow this process and repeat the operation several times until the discharged water is neutral with litmus paper inspection.
(6) Within 5 to 7 days after cleaning, the cooling water should be replaced every day to prevent residual scale from blocking the water drain gate.
3. The use of antifreeze:
In severe cold and low temperature conditions, antifreeze can be used.
