1. Choose the right engine oil

2. Oil drain and inspection
After draining the waste oil, you need to carefully check whether the rubber sealing ring of the filter has been removed together with the filter, so as to avoid overlapping and extrusion of the old and new rubber sealing rings when the new part is installed, which may cause oil leakage. Apply an oil film on the new oil filter’s rubber sealing ring (the rounded edge of the filter element). This oil film can be used as a lubricating medium during installation to prevent friction and damage to the sealing ring when installing a new filter.
3. Add appropriate amount of engine oil
When adding engine oil, do not be greedy and add too much, or add too little to save money. If there is too much engine oil, it will cause internal power loss when the engine is started, and may cause problems with oil burning. On the other hand, if there is insufficient engine oil, the internal bearings and journals of the engine will rub due to insufficient lubrication, exacerbating wear and tear, and in serious cases, causing a shaft burning accident. Therefore, when adding engine oil, it should be controlled between the upper and lower marks on the oil dipstick.
4. Check again after changing the oil
After adding the engine oil, you still need to start the engine, let it run for 3 to 5 minutes, and then turn off the engine. Pull out the oil dipstick again to check the oil level, and check the oil pan screws or the oil filter position for oil leakage and other problems.
